I've got what I
think is a "Benno" TV stand from Ikea (
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70203099 -- but mine doesn't have that center support or caster). The page says "Open back; makes cable organizing easy." Which is true. But it also makes it very ugly, a white wall visible through the back of a black stand, holding a black TV, black Wii, black PS3, black Tivo, and black DVD player. Not to mention the rat's nest of cables back there, which aren't the most attractive either. In my old place I propped a piece of cardboard back there which wasn't beautiful, but was better. This time, I've got a sort of satin black paper glued to the front of it. In the picture below, thanks to the flash, you can actually tell where it is (it doesn't reflect like the wood finish on the sides). But in regular use, you can't tell at all. It's just a pleasing black gloom that distracts not-a-bit from the screen just above it. Even the holes for the wiring to run through were strategically placed and sized so that you can't see them either! Yay!
