Layout changes

Well since I've done it, I have to post about it! I'm trying to increase usability of the site. But, of course, I don't well know how to attack the problem. I'll try my best though!

What I've done first here is take the links along the top blue bar and move them over to the right. I think they're a little more visible there. Since they're the only way to get to quite a few sections, I guess that's a very good thing! The 'cool links' section dissappeared to make room for that, but it's still available in the new "Links" link in the navigation section.

And with the empty space up top, I added in some random quotes. They're from a short collection I had lying around. They'll probably get some attention before too long.

I really liked the Cool Links section. Could it be put on the screen, between Navigation and /etc?

Well there's two things I can tell you. First, I'm using del.icio.us to power that, so if you want to see it you can also just check http://del.icio.us/arantius manually. But perhaps I could also add it back in as a user based preference.

Thing is that the main section needs to be as tall as the right, or things look funny. If the right is tall that gets tough. If it's variable height that gets much tougher. So we'll have to see.

You may use Markdown syntax in the comment, but no HTML. Hints:

  • An empty line between text will create a paragraph boundary.
  • Use angle braces around a plain URL to auto-link it: <http://www.example.com/>.
  • Use this format to create a link with different text showing: [An Example](http://www.example.com/).
  • Use backticks (``), not leading spaces to enclose a code block.

If you are attempting to contact me, ask me a question, etc, please send me a message through the contact form rather than posting a comment here. Thank you. (If you post a comment anyway when it should be a message to me, I'll probably just delete your comment. I don't like clutter.)
