Mom's Decadent Peanut Butter and Chocolate Birthday Cake

The whole cake done, with peanut brittle topping.
The ingredients. Everything from scratch! The three layers, freshly baked. The three layers, depanned to cool.
The three layers, stacked. First layer of frosting complete. Peanut butter/ganache frosting layer added.

I'm home visiting Mom for the long 4th of July weekend I took. Her birthday is just over a week away, so I decided to bake her a fancy cake. She picked this amazingly decadent triple layer chocolate and peanut butter number. Triple layer chocolate cake, with peanut butter cream cheese frosting. Covered in a chocolate and peanut butter ganache, with peanut brittle sprinkled on the top. Still waiting for it to settle/cool. It's hard to resist digging in!
