Obligitory Thanksgiving Post '07

My Mom decided that this year, she wanted to go see the Thanksgiving Day parade. We didn't plan a lot, just woke up and went. We arrived to the back of this mob. Look at the full size image. You can see, barely, a marching band in the distance. By the time we left (not even so long after we arrived in that spot), there were nearly as many people behind us, too. The parade is insane. Watch it on TV, if at all.

We wandered around a bit, and my Mom's sob story tweaked the heart of a lady cop, who let us walk around the barriers and we ended up right along the parade path, near the end of the line. We saw some good sights from there, but were both happy to have done it. Once. And only once.

Dinner was fantastic this year. I found and tried this bacon wrapped turkey recipe, and it was deeee-licious! With it we had stuffing, corn casserole, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy (from the recipe above, also quite nice), yams and dinner rolls. It looks a little odd, but it was all quite scrumptious. Dessert was two-layer creamy pumpkin pie. I made it; it didn't turn out perfect but it was still yummy. And, I'm stuffed!

P.S.: My apartment smells fantastic!
