Voluntary Simplicity

2005-04-27 10:00 - General

I just found this website called Voluntary Simplicity. The basic idea is that our lives, in general, have gotten far too busy and complicated to possibly enjoy them these days. Most of the ideas seem quite sound. They get a bit extreme towards the end, but I like the general concept.

I personally live in a smaller apartment than I could afford, earning less money than I could get if I really applied myself. But why do it? Why run the rat race? Scrambling for more money to buy more things wastes your whole life, it ruins what little is left over. A little simplicity is a good thing.
